Surgery Complete!

As many of you know from past letters, Nolan was scheduled to have surgery on June 10th to repair hernias and address two large unknown lumps in his abdomen. We are so thankful to share that surgery has happened and was very successful! Thank you for joining us in specifically praying about the concerns the doctors had regarding the two large lumps. We thank the Lord that they were NOT tumors, but instead, two large hernias. The surgeon found damage from a previous abdominal surgery Nolan had when he was thirteen. She explained that Nolan’s abdominal wall was never re-attached correctly from the past surgery which caused numerous hernias to form. We are so thankful the surgeon found the source of the problem! In addition to repairing 30 plus hernias, she was able to reconfigure Nolan’s entire abdomen wall so that it is once again fully connected.

After being in the hospital for 5 days, Nolan is now home and recovering. Please continue to pray for his recovery process as it is slow and much more involved than anyone had originally planned for. We are resting in the fact that this was all known by our heavenly Father. We are thankful that Nolan was able to have surgery in the States, and we have a hope for the upcoming future because we know GOD is in control.

Vacation Bible School

The week before Nolan’s surgery was Vacation Bible School at our sending church. We are so thankful to have been able to take part in serving alongside our church family for this amazing outreach event. God moved in big ways, and we saw 19 children accept Christ as their Savior that week! One young girl, who came during invitation time to talk to Nolan, was so clearly broken over finding out she was a sinner. She came boldly to ask how she could be saved and did so that night. What a joy-filled sight to see one be so excited after making Christ their personal Savior.
